Rome Prefect Franco Gabrielli on
Monday called for transparency in the bid process and city
spending for the upcoming extraordinary Jubilee Year, proposing
that this information be published online.
"I'll suggest to Vice Mayor (Marco) Causi to make as
transparent as possible, with a special section on the city's
website, all the money spent for organizing the Jubilee, the
procedures for assigning tenders, the names of who will award
them, and the deadlines for completing the works. This is the
first big event in times of driven scarcity, so it's right to
show how the people's money is being spent," Gabrielli said.
